So many of you guys have been asking me what I would get if I was either starting college or uni and I thought I would pick out some pieces which are versatile that you can wear to school and out of school.
Coats & Jackets
As the weather in England is very unpredictable, I choose items that would be great to throw on over anything and dark colours as we are coming into a/w and with my style into the mix, its a lot of dark colours and textures.
A good old sheep skin lined jacket is a classic and really should be a staple piece in the cold weather.
A classic denim but dark denim with look great with layers and is really in with the punk theme this season.
And well, the tailored coats, how could you say no?! Look how beautiful and elegant they are. paired with a basic loose tee or blouse, fitted trousers and loafers and you're good to go! Perfect for in school and out.
I normally took with me large or oversized bags to carry all my books and stationary in. I also did art so it was handy to have a lot of space so I could chuck in a sketch book or whatever. I stuck to black again as it goes with anything and you can mix and match. I also love the textures that Topshop have come up with as it gives your outfit a bit more edge.
Now these items are basics in my eyes and are great for layering over each other. For instance, the jumpsuit paired with the grey knit and chunky oil slick boots gives your outfit an effortless grunge look. Sling over a backpack or an oversized tote and you're good to go!
The boots or any boots in fact are a key to a great way to keep your feet all nice and cosy during the colder weather we will be experiencing.
The basic cami is a staple in my wardrobe too. At the moment I have black but I'm looking forward to getting the forest green one from topshop.
Different textures are great to play around with and if you are more minimal then don't forget the leather jacket, basic tee, skinnies and a leather jacket for a laid back look.
So there gals, thats my Topshop edition of the back to school items. I know some of you guys may think this is a bit out there but this is just my opinion!
